Ramaria calvodistalis is probably widespread in Eastern North America
These images of Ramaria cf. calvodistalis show its yellowish coloration; can also exhibit orange and tan colors, robust stem base is white. A relatively newly (2014) discovered/described species. Grows in clusters or groups on the ground under coniferous or deciduous trees. Odor and taste not distinctive.
Note: “Although the literature dealing with Ramaria of the Pacific Northwest has been summarized at least twice over the decades (Marr and Stuntz 1973; Exeter et al. 2006), modern literature is unavailable for Ramaria east of the Rocky Mountains except in fragments. Even less adequate is coverage of central United States, including the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas.”
