Inocybe is a large genus of mushrooms with over 1000 species. Inocybe is in the family Inocybaceae; other genera include Inosperma, Mallocybe and Pseudosperma. They are commonly known as fibercap mushrooms, due to the scaly or fiber-like texture of their caps. Found all over the world and grow in forest habitats where they form symbiotic relationships with trees. Attached gills. Brown spore print. Note odor.
