Inocybe Mushrooms

Inocybe is a large genus of mushrooms with over 1400 species. They are commonly known as fibercap mushrooms, due to the scaly or fibrillose texture of their caps. Found all over the world and grow in forest habitats where they form symbiotic relationships with trees.

This genus exhibits a wide range of colors, which can include brown, yellow, orange, red, and even blue or green. Many species have distinctive odors, the vast array of smells include floral, fruity, green corn, sickly sweet, aromatic, radishy, spermatic, fishy, Geranium leaves, and unpleasent, among others. Many have no odor. Be sure to smell your mushrooms.
