Inocybe is a large genus of mushrooms with over 1000 species. Inocybe is in the family Inocybaceae; other genera include Inosperma, Mallocybe and Pseudosperma. They are commonly known as fibercap mushrooms, due to the scaly or fiber-like texture of their caps. Found all over the world and grow in forest habitats where they form symbiotic relationships with trees. Attached gills. Brown spore print. Take note of odor.
