A pristine troop of the ink cap mushroom Coprinellus disseminatus. Consumes and grows from wood. Common name Fairy Ink Cap. Gregarious habit. Largest cap 1cm. Caps white when young, turning grayish or brownish/black with age. Stem is thin, white and hollow. Often found in abundance around tree trunks, of either fallen or cut trees; woodland and urban settings. Found year round with warm, damp weather. Black spore print.
